Rolling Meadows mosque denied move to new location

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. -- A mosque in Rolling Meadows will not be allowed to move to a new location.

The Islamic Society of the Northwest Suburbs wanted to move from its current location to an adjacent property on Hicks Road.

Many at Tuesday night's council meeting seemed to support the proposal, but that location is zoned for manufacturing, so a move had to be approved by the city.

The mosque's president says he's confident they will find a suitable, new location.
