A Nissan sedan stalled in the second left inside lane, and a semi, unable to stop, struck the sedan, ISP said.

In video from the scene, the sedan appeared to have been partially pinned under the front end of the semi.

The sedan's driver was transported to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead. A passenger in the sedan was taken to a local hospital with injuries.

All northbound lanes of I-94 were temporarily closed, and traffic was rerouted off the expressway at 63rd Street.

All lanes were reopened at approximately 4:15 a.m.

Authorities did not immediately provide further information about the crash.
