Lanes of traffic reopen after police investigate
CHICAGO (WLS) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed on DuSable Lake Shore Drive Monday morning at Roosevelt Road, disrupting traffic, Chicago police said.
The crash occurred at about 5:09 a.m. in the 1100-block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
Police said a Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by a 26-year-old man was driving northbound with a greenlight when he struck a 72-year-old man standing in the median.

The 72-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and the pickup truck driver remained on the scene. The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.
No other injuries were reported and no citations have been issued.
Lanes in both directions of DuSable Lake Shore Drive were closed as police investigated before reopening around 9 a.m.
At one point, traffic was at a standstill with drivers diverted off, creating massive backups.
State police also blocked the ramp from the inbound Stevenson, prompting delays on the expressway.
