Red Arrow Tap Room


All Chicago beer 'buffs' are going to want to check out this unique new spot to get their 'suds'! The Red Arrow Tap Room in Suburban Elmhurst lets -you- pour your own brews. They have 48 varieties 'on tap'. Customers get a pour pass that keeps track of how many ounces they've consumed and 'caps' the customers at 32 ounces. Wine lovers aren't left out either, Red Arrow has self-pour wines too! The concept is the only one of its kind in the Midwest!

Go Ape Zip Line and Treetop Adventure Course


You probably thought you head off to Wisconsin or Michigan.. to hop on a zip line? Well, think again... Chicago's Western Suburbs now boast the area's first Zip Line Attraction. Go Ape opened up in the Bemis Woods Forest Preserve in Western Springs just more than one year ago! Go Ape's Treetop Adventure course is a pretty intense workout.. and currently, just for folks ages 10 and up. But never fear, later this summer, Go Ape's 'Treetop Junior Course' will open for the little ones!

Pirate's Cove Children's Theme Park


Pirate's Cove is an institution in the Northwestern suburbs. It opened nearly 40 years ago and offers up all kinds of pirate-themed fun, from adorable attractions and pirate shows.. to 'tame' rides for your little ones. Families can either pack a picnic or buy lunch at Pirate's Cove's own concession stand. The park is run by the Elk Grove Park District so, prices are low... just $12 per child.. and adults are always free. Pirate's Cove hosts a variety of fun events throughout the summer too.. they close for the season in mid-September.
