A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for Lake County (IL) until 12:30 a.m. CDT Tuesday.
Storms initially developed near the Iowa border and moved east toward Chicago, ABC7 Chicago meteorologists said. The storms reached the far western suburbs around 8 p.m. and arrived in Chicago after 9 p.m.
All of Cook County under Tornado Warning
ABC7 Chicago meteorologists said tornadoes were spotted near both Midway and O'Hare airports around 9:45 p.m.

During a Tornado Warning for all of Cook County, ABC7 Chicago crews had to take cover Monday night.

The Chicago Fire Department said they have responded to several calls about porch collapses and downed trees Monday night. No injuries have been reported from those incidents, but CFD said trees are down on most of the block at 70th and Campbell.
ComEd said 304,427 Chicago-area customers were without power as of 11:30 p.m.

Tornadoes were also confirmed near the Aurora area and over Manhattan.
Tornado touches down near Sugar Grove
Authorities shut down a major intersection at 47th and Galena in Sugar Grove after a traffic light apparently went out.
According to ComEd, 2,000 or more customers could be without power in the Sugar Grove area. Police there said they have been responding to call after call about storm impact on Monday night.
A Kane County Sheriff's Office spokesperson said there was a report of a tornado along I-88 near Route 47.
ABC7 crew headed to site of confirmed tornado
Winds up to 100 mph were reported in Homer Glen and New Lenox just after 9:30 p.m.
Extensive damage was reported in Northwest Indiana around 10:30 p.m.
The Indiana Toll Road has issued a Wind Ban across the entire roadway from 8 p.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Tuesday for triple tractor-trailers, long-doubles (high-profile only) and high-profile oversize permit loads.
Inbound and outbound Metra Union Pacific Northwest trains are stopped near Woodstock, due to high wind warnings.

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago has issued an Overflow Action Day alert Monday, and asked the public to limit water usage to absolute necessities.
A concert at Wrigley Field Monday started early, due to possible weather.
The Storm Prediction Center had much of the Chicago area under a Level 4 risk for severe weather Monday. The surrounding area was under a Level 3 risk.
There was also a 10% risk of a tornado within 25 miles of a given point.
Tornado Watch in effect for Chicago area
The threat of severe weather is expected to diminish after midnight. The storms are expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain.
