SEATTLE, WA -- An animal shelter worker flew from Texas to Seattle this weekend to help find a runaway dog.
Mila the dog bolted from her kennel at the Seattle airport on Friday.
She was flown from a shelter in Texas to unite with a family that adopted her.
Volunteers later tracked her down at a cemetery near the airport, but she kept running away.
The dog came up to them only when she saw a familiar face - the worker from her original shelter.
Lachrystal Ricke had come all the way from Houston to help find Mila.
"We just sat for a while and then I think she finally realized who I was and finally realized she was going to be safe and here we are," said Ricke, an animal shelter worker.
The dog will be checked by a local vet Monday, before meeting her new family and seeing her new home.
