Big dog wins big honor at Westminster show

HOLLAND, Ohio His name? "Peerless I Am the Love Bug" or Bugs, as his family calls him. The 140-pound Bullmastiff won the best of breed at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show in New York City, beating out more than 20 of the top Bullmastiffs in the country. We caught up with Bugs and his owner today as he stopped by the Sylvania vet clinic to visit some of the people who help keep him in top form. Bugs was rewarded with an entire pizza after the big win, as well as a championship ribbon and trophy.

His owner Christy Shepler says the big guy doesn't seem too fazed by his fame. "It is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was phenominal. I never imagined it would happen to me at such a young age. Luckily, I have an outstanding dog with a great pedigree and his type was just what the judge was looking for this year."

Bugs has also won several national and internationl titles.

What's next for the champion? He'll enjoy time at home with the family and compete on a limited basis the rest of the year.
