ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) -- A man was killed and his wife and daughter were injured in an early morning fire at the Arlington Heights home.

Officials are still investigating.

Firefighters arrived at the home in the 1600-block of Waverly Court around 2:50 a.m. Tuesday to find a woman in her 60s desperately searching for her husband and daughter.

"I heard screaming, I just heard, 'Oh my God.' Something like that. And that's when we came running out," neighbor Ramy Ayoub said.

Firefighters, who quickly put out the flames, found the woman's husband inside the home. He did not survive. Their daughter, who is in her 30s, was found injured in the back yard.

"I can't even imagine what that had to be like. Just to get yourself out of the house and make sure your daughter gets out and find out your husband didn't make it out. I can't even imagine what that's like," Windy Rivard said.

The woman and her daughter were both taken to Northwest Community Hospital, where they are listed in good and serious condition, respectively.

The Illinois State Fire Marshal is investigating.
