Home daycare investigated for 1-year-old's death

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A home daycare provider under investigation after the death of a 1-year old boy.

Police said they were called to the 1500-block of West Pratt Street around 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 30 for an unresponsive child. The baby was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Early tests did not determine his cause of death. The home daycare provider said the boy had recently been sick. DCFS said the home daycare provider voluntarily suspended childcare pending the outcome of their investigation.
