Cary 19-year-old killed in apparent drive-by shooting in West Lawn identified by officials
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Authorities have identified a man killed in an apparent drive-by shooting in Chicago as a 19-year-old of Cary.

The shooting happened Sunday before 2 a.m. in the West Lawn neighborhood's 4000-block of West 69th Street, Chicago police said.
The man was standing outside when someone shot him in the lower back multiple times, police said.
The victim was taken to Christ Hospital, where he died.
He was identified as Giovannie E. Vargas of Cary, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
CPD said the shooter may have been traveling in a vehicle when the attack happened.
No other injuries were reported.
Area One detectives are investigating. Authorities did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
