DETROIT (WLS) -- General Motors is telling dealers in the U.S. and Canada to stop selling its most popular car, the 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Cruze.

GM says there is a potential defect in the air bags in the 2013 and 2014 models. GM says it's has identified about 33,000 of the cars with the possible problem.

Now that they've been identified, the company said it hopes to start selling "most other Cruzes" again starting Thursday.
