CHICAGO (WLS) -- The annual ALS Walk for Life returned for its 16th year Saturday. In that time, the event has raised more than $12,000,000 for the Les Turner ALS Foundation. The money helps support the nonprofit's mission of medical research, patient services and educational programs. The ALS Walk for Life brought together 7,000 people in the largest gatherings for the ALS community in the world. The event featured a 2-mile course along Chicago's lakefront through iconic Soldier Field. ABC 7 is a proud sponsor of the ALS Walk for Life. Tracy Butler and Phil Schwarz joined Eyewitness News live from the event to meet some of the people making it happen.
