Local Teen Takes on Gun Violence in Her Community

At only 15 years old, Aaliyah Stewart has already attended 12 funerals, three of which were for her own family members.

Inspired by tragedy, but driven by faith Aaliyah has made it her personal mission to put an end to the gun violence, which has infested the streets of her northwest Indiana neighborhood.

With the help of some fundraising and a GoFundMe.com page, Aaliyah has successfully awarded two scholarships to college-bound students.

But that's not all. Aaliyah spends a lot of her time spreading her message at schools, churches and rallies all around her community.
