Congress bridge at I-290 will close early Sunday

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Drivers who use Congress Parkway will need to take a detour for part of the weekend.

That's because the bridge at Congress and the Eisenhower will be closed for about five hours starting at midnight Saturday.

The Chicago Department of Transportation says crews will be doing routine maintenance and testing the bridge lifting systems.

The closure is scheduled to run from midnight Saturday until 5 a.m. Sunday.
