Times set for 2 Cubs playoff games at Wrigley

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Cubs may not yet know who they're playing, but now they know when.

The Cubs will lead off the National League Division Series at 8:15 p.m. Friday against either the New York Mets or San Francisco Giants. They'll play at Wrigley.

Then on Saturday at Wrigley, the Cubs will play Game 2 at 7:08 p.m.

The NLDS will continue at the opposing team's field Monday with Game 3. If needed, the series will see a Game 4 Tuesday Oct. 11 and Game 5 Thursday Oct. 13. Times were only released for Game 1 and 2 as of 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Beginning on Sept. 7 registration opened for fans to enter the lottery to purchase tickets to the NLDS and NLCS. The registration period of the NLDS ended on Sept. 21. The registration period for the NLCS ends on Oct. 7.

The Mets and Giants will play a wildcard game Wednesday night to determine who will meet the Cubs in the NLDS.

WRIGLEYVILLE PREPARES FOR POSTSEASON

Red and blue flashes in Lakeview aren't just Cubs colors; Chicago police brought in extra security cameras. They are already mounted on Clark Street south of Wrigley Field.

"It'll be a lot busier than last year 'cause no more bars across the street," said John Nottger of Sluggers Bar.

Construction has changed the Wrigleyville footprint; there are fewer bars and lots of fencing, so Sluggers Bar is bringing in extra everything.

"Extra beer, extra alcohol, extra security, extra staff all the way around," Nottger said.

Bar owners will meet with city leaders and police this week. The plan is expected to be similar to what the city used during the playoffs in 2015. The streets will probably be pretty predictable too.

"People walking in the street, and people, like, avoiding Clark. Drivers avoiding Clark," predicted former Chicagoan Asia Davis.

Davis brought her friend Michelle Hogan from Texas, and they enjoyed a quiet night on the edge of history. For the Cubs, they said, they're all in.

"So if I know if they're doing big things, I'll root for them," Hogan said.
