Teachers union prepares for possible CPS layoffs on Monday

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Teachers Union is preparing for possible layoffs on Monday due to a large budget gap in the district.

Chicago Public Schools says some CTU members will be given pink slips though not as many as the thousands as first thought.

CPS also has not reached a new contract with CTU.

The last proposal was rejected and no new negotiations are planned.
