Festival Cubano
A preview of next week's Festival Cubano and a paella recipe.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Experience Cuban culture on Chicago's northwest side at the 5th Annual Festival Cubano in Riis Park, August 15-17, 2014.



Live acts will perform salsa, Afro-Cuban funk, and more. This year's event will also pay tribute to legendary Cuban musicians Jos Fajardo, Benny Mor and Los Van Van founder Juan Formell.

At the door: $10 before 5 p.m., $15 after 5 p.m.


Online: $10 for daily ticket, $20 for 3-day pass, $75 (for daily VIP Pass)


Children Under 12: Free



Online ticket sales end August 14 at midnight



Paella Recipe


Preparation time: 45 minutes



Ingredients:


3 garlic cloves


1 lb. squid


Black squid ink


16 scallops in their shell


1/2 lb. pound mussels


1/4 lb. shrimps


1 onion, diced


Golden dry cooking wine


Olive oil



Instructions:


Sautee the onion, garlic, rice, ink in olive oil until they are fully soaked in black.


Add the squid, shrimp, mussels, scallops and wine, and stir. Cook until shrimp and squid are tender and mussel shells open.


Add water to taste.
