Cops: Man hid in bathroom stall at sports bar, raped woman
NEW YORK -- There's new video in the search for a rapist who attacked a woman inside the bathroom of a Manhattan bar.
Police said the surveillance video was taken just outside the Turnmill Sports Bar on East 27th Street, where the 23-year-old victim was grabbed by the throat and raped on Saturday.
The incident happened around 7:45 p.m.
The suspect, who had been hiding inside a stall in the women's bathroom, fled the scene.
The victim was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital for treatment.
The suspect is described as a white man who is about 45 to 55 years old, about 5-foot-9 and 150 to 175 pounds with brown hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black shirt and black framed glasses.
Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call CrimeStoppers at 800 -77-TIPS.
