CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Police Department Bomb and Arson Unit investigated Thursday three suspicious garage fires less than half a mile apart on the city's Northwest Side.
A viewer sent ABC7 Eyewitness News viewer video of a fire in the 3100-block of North Lamon Avenue. Police were notified of the blaze around 3:20 a.m. The fire reportedly spread from a garage to a home. Eight people, including children, were displaced.
Investigators also looked into a garage fire in the 4100-block of West Melrose Street. The flames reportedly broke out in a detached garage at that location. Reports said the fire did not spread and no one was displaced.
Police said a third garage fire started in the 5000-block of West Wellington Avenue.
Authorities did not release the exact times each fire started, but said all three occurred within an hour of each other. No injuries were reported.
