ASHEVILLE, NC -- North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory encountered a hairy constituent at the Western Residence in Asheville over the holiday weekend.

A black bear wandered onto the mansion grounds and was captured on video. The photographer can be heard in the recording warning the governor not to get too close.

The Western Residence sits atop a Town Mountain in Asheville. Built in 1939, it includes 18 acres of property. Bear sightings are not uncommon.
