Semi carrying hazardous material rolls over in Willow Springs

WILLOW SPRINGS, Ill. (WLS) -- A semi carrying a hazardous material overturned on the ramp from southbound La Grange Road to East Archer Avenue and 79th Street in southwest suburban Willow Springs.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene around 4 a.m. A tow truck arrived a couple hours later to help upright the semi.

The truck was hauling sodium hydroxide, which can be extremely dangerous if inhaled or if it gets onto a person's eyes or skin.

No injuries were reported.
