Lockport brush fire impacts traffic on I-355

LOCKPORT, Ill. (WLS) -- A large fire impacted traffic on a busy expressway in the southwest suburbs Monday night.

Mulch and trees caught fire at Homer Glen Tree Service in Lockport. The flames and smoke could be seen from I-355, not far from the scene.

Illinois State Police said that the southbound I-355 exit ramp to Archer was shut down due to the fire. Archer Avenue was closed between 135th and 143rd.

Archer Avenue and the southbound I-355 exit ramp were back open Tuesday morning.

No one was hurt in the fire.
