CHICAGO (WLS) -- City crews are busy this summer cleaning up Chicago one neighborhood at a time.

This weekend, they were in Humboldt Park. City workers fixed potholes, removed graffiti and trimmed trees.

According to the city, doing this will improve neighborhoods and strengthen communities.

"This means a lot to the residents," said 37th Ward Alderman Emma Mitts. "I think that when we clean up an area it helps to decrease the crime that's in the area."

This was the fourth in a series of 12 so-called community blitzes that will be taking place across the city.
