AURORA, Ill. (WLS) -- Westbound lanes of I-88 are shut down near Randall Road in Aurora after a multi-vehicle accident, according to North Aurora fire officials. Traffic is getting by on the shoulder, which opened at 9 p.m.
Illinois State Police say numerous drivers and passengers were injured with one victim air lifted with life-threatening injuries. Victims were transported to three different area hospitals.
There is no word as to the circumstances of the crash or how long the lanes will be shut down. Drivers should seek alternate routes and expect major delays.
