Illinois Tollway reminds drivers of Safe Phone Zones

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The busy spring break travel season is here and the Illinois Tollway is reminding drivers to use safe phone zones to make calls from the road.

The head of the Illinois Tollway was joined by Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White and others to kick off National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. Drivers are reminded that the six Illinois Tollway oases are designated as "safe phone zones." They are encouraging drivers to pull into these zones to safely make calls, text and use mobile apps while traveling.
