CHICAGO (WLS) -- The trial of Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke is not over, but the Chicago Fire Department is already preparing for a verdict.
CFD Commissioner Richard Ford is instructing all personnel to always take home their uniform clothing and protective equipment, including bunker gear and masks until the trial is resolved.
Ford has also said all fire stations must be secured 24 hours a day.
Van Dyke is charged with murdering Laquan McDonald nearly four years ago.
