Trial of Lake County sheriff continues
Lake County Sheriff John Buncich faces public corruption charges.

LAKE COUNTY, Ind. (WLS) -- The public corruption trial of Lake County Sheriff John Buncich continued for a seventh day on Wednesday in federal court in Hammond, Ind.

After testimony from a 911 dispatcher and a tow truck driver, court adjourned by late morning due to the judge's schedule.

Buncich is expected to testify on Thursday.

He faces public corruption charges. Buncich and his Deputy Timothy Downs are accused of collecting bribe money from CSA towing, which got lucrative contracts.

Downs has already pleaded guilty and will be sentenced next month.

The owner of CSA Towing also pleaded guilty and is expected to testify against Buncich.

On Wednesday, a 911 dispatcher testified about the boundaries of the map designating where tow truck companies operated.
