Lurie Children's Hospital proposes $51M expansion

Lurie Children's Hospital is proposing a $51 million expansion.

A permit filed with the city shows the Streeterville facility wants to increase the number of intensive care beds by nearly 50 percent. Lurie officials plan to renovate existing space to accommodate an additional 44 intensive care beds for its pediatric patients.

The hospital said it expects the project to be completed by Jan. 31, 2019.
