One of the most colorful parades in Chicago, the 26th Street Mexican Independence Parade, celebrates Mexican Independence with floats, mariachi bands and dancing in the streets.
The parade, now in its 50th year, was held Sunday, September 8, in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood, with the fun kicking off at noon at the intersection of 26th and Kedzie. Thousands lined the streets and displayed their Mexican pride.
The parade's end point is Fiestas Patrias on 26th Street and Kostner where a community party with live music, food and carnival rides was held.
ABC 7 is a proud sponsor of the event.
