CHICAGO (WLS) -- The need to raise awareness for early breast cancer detection is huge, and something big is needed to break through the clutter to spread the word, one hospital says.
So Breast Cancer Awareness Month is kicking off in a big way.
Advocate Health Care built a 1,500-pound, 16-foot-tall "Support Bra" on Pioneer Court at 401 North Michigan.
The giant bra is meant to symbolize the support women need after a breast cancer diagnosis.
The bra will come down Thursday night and move to another surprise location.
Breast cancer is the second-leading cause of death among women, with more than 230,000 new cases expected each year.
