Naperville officer rescues toddler running on Route 59

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- A Naperville police officer was caught on camera rescuing a toddler wandering on a busy road.

Sergeant Anthony Mannino was driving along Route 59 last month when he saw the little boy.

Mannino parked his cruiser to block traffic, then ran to the little boy who was eventually reunited with his mother.

Sergeant Mannino was awarded the department's Life Saving Award last week.
