CHICAGO (WLS) -- Indiana will be providing special "safe haven" boxes where parents can surrender babies anonymously.

The 2 ft. metal containers are like incubators. They have sensors that will alert medical staffers or police if an infant has been left in the box.

Babies can now be left at hospitals, police and fire stations and churches, without the person giving up the child being prosecuted.

The goal is to make it even safer to surrender an infant.
