Off-duty FBI agent aids in E. Peoria bar shooting

EAST PEORIA, Ill. (WLS) -- Police in East Peoria are praising the efforts of an off-duty FBI agent who was able to take down a man after he opened fire at a high school reunion Saturday night.

More than 100 people were at a bar when police say a man walked in and shot and killed his ex-wife and her current boyfriend.

Authorities say the scene could have been a lot worse had the off-duty FBI agent not been there. The gunman was shot and killed.

Police are still investigating but believe the shooting stems from a broken marriage.
