West Side residents march in parade for peace

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A parade for peace was held on the city's West Side encouraging residents to take a stand against violence.

Local community and faith leaders and schools took part in the parade in the Austin neighborhood.

Their message was a call to make neighborhoods safer and for residents to get involved in their communities.

A festival was held following the parade.
