The elementary school teacher is accused of inappropriately touching two students

HUMBLE, TX -- A teacher at Park Lakes Elementary School in Humble is accused of inappropriately touching two students, aged 10 and 6, while on campus.

Alfonso Martinez, 41, has been charged with two counts of indecency with a child.

His bail has been set at $30,000 for each count, for a total of $60,000.

Humble ISD says Martinez was put on leave last April due to a parent's concerns that a child may have been touched inappropriately at school. Martinez was barred from the campus and an investigation was launched. He resigned in May, a month after being put on leave.

District spokesperson Jamie Mount said, "Humble ISD works with law enforcement for the well-being of all children. Inappropriate behavior will be investigated and prosecuted."

Martinez was a kindergarten and first grade teacher at Park Lakes Elementary School from 2009-2014.
