Evanston couple sues property owner after porch collapse

EVANSTON, Ill. (WLS) -- An Evanston couple injured in a porch collapse on Memorial Day is taking their property owner to court.

A husband and wife claim there were serious flaws in the design and construction of the porch and those defects should have been observed by the property owner and inspectors.

Several people were hurt when the second floor deck came crashing down over the holiday weekend.

ABC7 was unable to reach the property owner for a comment.
