1 killed, 1 injured in Lower Wacker Drive crash, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman was killed and a man injured in a crash on Lower Wacker Drive Thursday night, Chicago police said.

The crash occurred at about 11:30 p.m. in the first block of Lower Wacker Drive.

Police said a red SUV was making a left turn when it was struck by a black sedan that disregarded a traffic signal.

A 18-year-old woman who was a passenger in the black sedan was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

She was identified as Niya Toney.

A 19-year-old man who was driving the black sedan was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed as stable, police said.

The driver and passenger in the red SUV declined medical services, police said.
