1 killed, 1 injured in Hillside crash

HILLSIDE Ill. (WLS) -- One person was killed and another injured in a crash in Hillside Thursday morning, police said.

The crash occurred at about 4:54 a.m. on Mannheim Road.

Police said a Chevrolet Trailblazer was heading south on Mannheim Road when it struck a Ford Mustang as it turned west onto Washington.

A 22-year-old man driving the Trailblazer was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Mustang, also a 22-year-old man, was transported to Elmhurst Hospital with injuries, police said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
