Large semi fire shuts down northbound lanes of I-294 near Rosemont, state police say

COOK COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- A large semi fire shut down most northbound lanes on part of the Tri-State Tollway Thursday evening in the north suburbs.

The fire broke out around 3:41 p.m. on I-294 near Dempster Street, which is near Rosemont, state police said.

Only the far left lane and left shoulder were open as of 3:54 p.m., ISP said.

No injuries have been reported.
