TIGERTON, Wis. -- A 6-year-old Wisconsin girl is recovering from a rabid bat attack.
Her family says the bat bit Cece Kale while she was climbing a tree in her rural community of Tigerton, Wisconsin.
"I tried to scream and scream and scream until they came," Kale said.
Her brothers are credited with saving her, with one slaying the animal with a makeshift sword.

Kale got the first of four prescribed rabies shots the same day.
"When you realize that your child probably has an ancient old virus that's 100% fatal, probably in her body. I mean it's, it's terrifying, you know. You have all the thoughts run through your head of like what if I bury my child?" mother Elizabeth Kale said.
The local health department says victims of wild animal bites should clean the wound with soap and water and get medical help right away.
