Semi hits pedestrian on I-94 in north suburbs, Illinois State Police say

LAKE COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- A semi hit a pedestrian Friday afternoon on Interstate 94 in the north suburbs Lake County

The crash happened around 12:13 p.m. on eastbound I-94 in Lake County, Illinois State Police said.

The circumstances surrounding the pedestrian who was hit by the truck being on I-94 were not immediately clear.

The crash happened on I-94 near Wadsworth, Illinois.

The three right lanes of eastbound I-94 were close as of 12:18 p.m., state police said.

Chopper 7 was over the scene around 4:30 p.m., where the lanes still appeared to be closed over four hours later.

A semi was still parked on the road, and another vehicle appeared to have crashed off of the road into trees.

No further information was available as police continue to investigate.
