CHICAGO (WLS) -- A motorcyclist was hospitalized after colliding with a sedan on the Dan Ryan Expressway early Friday morning, Illinois State Police said.
ISP said troopers responded to the crash on southbound Interstate 94 just after 12:15 a.m.
Investigators believe a motorcyclist failed to slow down to avoid colliding with a sedan south of 83rd Street, near Chicago's Chatham neighborhood.
ISP said the motorist rear-ended the sedan and was ejected from the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition.
The sedan's driver was not injured.
Investigators temporarily shut down all southbound lanes before reopening them just after 4:30 a.m.
ISP did not immediately provide further information.
