89-year-old man feared missing in Fox River near Algonquin found safe on land

ALGONQUIN, Ill. (WLS) -- A man feared missing in the Fox River near Algonquin was reported safe on land.

Family members say the 89-year-old man's medical alert device fell out of his pocket earlier Wednesday while he was on a boat, triggering an emergency response.

Crews were searching in the Fox River in the north suburbs Wednesday.

The search was happening near Arthur Road in Algonquin, police said.

Chopper 7 was over the scene. A diver could be seen in the water.
