CHICAGO (WLS) -- Awareness kicks off the conversation, but action saves lives when it comes to cancer prevention.

Dr. Deepa Sheth is the breast imaging chief at Illinois Prime hospitals and an American Cancer Society spokesperson. She joined ABC7 Chicago Tuesday.

She talked about breast cancer rates climbing; what the American Cancer Society recommends when it comes to screening; how to reduce the risk for breast cancer as family history, genetics and lifestyle choices can contribute; and how she feels when one of her patients beats cancer.
