
AURORA, Ill. (WLS) -- A 24-year-old man died after crashing into a tree in the west suburbs Wednesday, police said.
The crash happened at about 11:21 p.m. in the 600 block of Spruce Street, police said.
Police said they responded to the call of multiple 911 calls reporting that a vehicle crashed into a tree.
A man, 24, and a woman, 23, were found to have been ejected from the car, police said.
The man died at the scene, Aurora police said.
The Kane County Coroner's Office identified him as Luis Enrique Garcia Gomez of Streamwood, Illinois.
The woman was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove in critical condition.
Police said that a preliminary investigation indicates that a gray Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Spruce Street at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway and struck a tree.
No other information regarding the crash was released.
