Man shot multiple times while pumping gas in Aurora; police release images of suspect

West suburban police release images of suspected gas station shooter

AURORA, Ill. (WLS) -- West suburban police are looking for the suspect who shot a man as he pumped gas early Monday morning.

Aurora police officers responded to the Mobil gas station at 300 South Broadway around 3:45 a.m.

Responding officers found a 49-year-old man who had been shot in the upper body multiple times.

The victim was pumping gas when a male suspect approached him, fired shots and fled eastbound, police said.

Police said the victim's injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, and he was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.

Officials released images of the suspected shooter, who wore a gray winter coat, brown pants, and brown shoes. Aurora police K-9 units searched the area but did not find the suspect.

Aurora Police Department's Investigations Division is investigating and asked anyone with information to contact them at 630-256-5500.
