Crash causes CTA bus to hit apartment on Near West Side: CPD

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A driver allegedly caused a crash that resulted in a CTA bus hitting an apartment building on the city's West Side, according to Chicago police.

Police said a 32-year-old woman blew through a red light near Damen and Washington at about 9:19 p.m. on Saturday.

The driver hit the bus, which careened into an apartment building, causing some minor damage, according to CPD.

A 59-year-old man on the bus was taken to Stroger Hospital and is expected to be OK.

The woman driving the sedan was taken to Stroger Hospital and is expected to be OK.

An 11-month-old baby girl was a passenger in the sedan. Chicago police said she had minor injuries and was taken to Stroger Hospital.

The driver of the sedan was issued a citation. Chicago police are investigating the crash.
