Police responded to a call on Tuesday at about 4:37 a.m. to apartments in the 100-block of Church Street.

Hector B. Luvianos allegedly called to report that he had just killed his wife, the state's attorney said.

Police said they found Luvianos outside the apartment; he was quickly taken into custody.

Noemi Parada Narvaez, his wife, was found inside the apartment with life-threating injuries; she died at the scene, according to the Kane County Coroner's Office.

Luvianos was charged with first-degree murder. A court ordered he remain detained while his case is pending.
