At least 1 killed in multi-vehicle crash involving semi in Beecher, state police say

BEECHER, Ill. (WLS) -- At least one person was killed in a crash Friday in Will County.

Chopper 7 was over the crash scene on Dixie Highway near County Line Road in Beecher, Illinois.

Illinois State Police said three vehicles were involved in a crash around 3:13 p.m., including two passenger vehicles and a semi-truck.

One person died due to the crash, ISP said. Their age, gender and identity were not yet known.

State police said the driver ran a stop sign, and their vehicle was hit by a semi truck. The vehicle then caught fire.

The truck driver was not hurt.

No further information was available.
