
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two men were injured in a shootout on Chicago's South Side on Friday night, police said.
Police said officers responded to a report of a shooting in the Brainerd neighborhood's 9100-block of South Ashland Avenue just before 11:30 p.m.
Investigators believe both men, 42 and 69, were involved in an exchange of gunfire.
Officers found the 42-year-old with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was transported to Christ Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.
The 69-year-old, shot in the knee, was taken to the same hospital, where he is listed in good condition, police said.
Area Two detectives are investigating.
Authorities did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
